Eight-man teams. Two days of matchplay. One trophy. For 2027 we head to the Scottish Borders to take on the newly reimagined course at Schloss Roxburghe.
Our first 8-man team event was a huge success back in 2021 at Slaley Hall, with more than 20 teams taking part over a brilliant weekend of golf. Not The Ryder Cup went on to become one of our favourite team events, but after taking a couple of years out, we've been waiting for the right venue to bring it back properly.
For 2027, we've found it.
With the stunning new lodges now open at Schloss Roxburghe, the event finally has a new home — and we couldn't think of a better place to relaunch it.
The timing couldn't be much better either. Not The Ryder Cup 2027 will take place the week before the actual Ryder Cup, with Roxburghe having hosted the HotelPlanner Tour only a few weeks earlier. The course should therefore be in absolutely outstanding condition for what promises to be a very special weekend.
The format is simple, competitive and built for team golf. Each 8-man team will take on the opposition in pairs betterball matchplay in Round 1, before everything is decided man-to-man in singles matchplay in Round 2. Every match is worth points, and the team that accumulates the most over the weekend will be crowned Not The Ryder Cup Champions 2027.
Golf in Scotland, who run one of the largest amateur golf event programmes in Europe, will look after the weekend from start to finish — leaving you to assemble your team, enjoy one of Scotland's finest courses and battle it out for bragging rights.
Teams split into pairs to take on the opposition head-to-head, with the better of each pair's two scores counting on every hole. Points are won hole by hole.
Every player goes one-on-one against an opposite number, no hiding places. It's where team titles are usually won and lost.
Points from both rounds are added together across the full team. The eight-man side with the highest total at the close of play on Sunday takes the trophy.
A full round on the Schloss Roxburghe course, plus closest-to-the-pin prizes on every par 3 and two longest drives on the day.
Check in to your lodge, settle in, and get the evening under way ahead of Sunday's singles.
Man-to-man matchplay to settle the weekend, with closest-to-the-pin and two more longest drive contests up for grabs.
Trophy presentation and £2,400 in prize money for the winning team, once the last match comes up the 18th.
Every player is booked into a night's bed & breakfast in the lodges at Schloss Roxburghe — proper Borders stone-and-slate cottages set out along the fairways, a short walk from the first tee and the clubhouse bar.
Drop your clubs, kick off your boots, and get changed before dinner without ever leaving the course. It's the same easy set-up that made the lodges at Dundonald Links such a hit — just with a change of scenery.
Places are limited to keep the field at its best, and teams filled up fast for previous editions. Secure your spot with a deposit and settle the balance ahead of September 2027.
1 night B&B, 2 rounds of golf, and all on-course competitions included.
